The Mill

Enjoy the finest the region has to offer in an historic setting at Cowra’s oldest building - The Mill Cellar Door. Set opposite tranquil River Park, The Mill is a must see. Spend ten minutes or a leisurely hour exploring this superbly renovated Victorian masterpiece.

The Mill verandah is a perfect location to relax and enjoy Windowrie wines matched with either a produce platter or seasonal soup. Tea and Coffee are also available. The Mill is available for private functions, weddings and parties.

History of The Mill

‘Old’
Built by brothers Walsh, The Mill was opened on February 13 1861 to local enthusiasm. The Mill operated until 1905 producing Golden Spray brand local flour, it then lay vacant for over 90 years.

‘New’
In 1995 the O’Dea family of Windowrie purchased and renovated the empty shell. An important aspect of the rejuvenation was the use of 80% recycled materials from such varied sources as train carriages, cattle yards, bulldozers, demolished houses and part of Sydney’s Kingsford Smith ng.Airport. Wines

During vintage the finest parcels of fruit are selected to produce our award winning wines. All wines are made in our state of the art winery located 30 km north west of Cowra. Traditional techniques are combined with new technology to produce affordable wines that display unique regional character.


Local Produce

The Mill has a large range of local produce from the regions finest producers available for tasting and sales.
